An Open Letter to Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra

Dears Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra,

As responsible Parliamentarians, you have every right to take the NDA Government, led by Prime Minister Narender Modi, to task for any of its wrong doings, including the “vote chori” as alleged by you and your companions in the ongoing political hara-kiri.

You are elected & adequately paid for that by the people of this great country. But your basic / first turf is the Parliament – the temple of Indian democracy nurtured by the founding fathers of Bharat Varsha over the decades; not the roads – which in any case are generally speaking not in good condition.

Your job is to safeguard the interests of the people – primarily – inside the Parliament of India and / or through the country’s established judicial system when the need arises. You are welcome to hit the roads, should the judiciary fail in its duty to address the legitimate concerns of the common citizens.

I hope you remember that nearly five lakhs of Kashmiri Pandits continue to live in forced exile for the last thirty-six years – like refugees in their own country?

The community has suffered repeated genocide over the centuries ever since the advent of Islam in the valley in 1339 AD. How many times have you visited the community or their crumbling camps in Jammu, Delhi or elsewhere in the country in the last three and a half decades? How many petitions you have made to the Government of Jammu &Kashmir, Central government or to the hon’ble Supreme Court of India to bring justice to their martyrs – nearly one thousand and five hundred of them?

When will the peace loving Pandit community be able to return to their roots; their homeland in their place of origin – Kashmir? Can you please give any assurance to the genocide victim community now in Exile?

There are many other issues of common interest, especially the exorbitant cost of education and medical care, that an ordinary / common citizen of this country is facing that need attention and can be solved not by confrontation but by cooperation of all concerned.

Just pause; Reflect !

Have you any right to routinely inconvenience the common people for whom you claim to fight for- by your thoughtless public tamashasa on the roads ? One doesn’t need to remind you either of the important positions you hold currently in the Indian democratic system nor of the legacy that you both have inherited.

Jai Hind, ………. Orzuv !
